Martusciello Bakery in Rochester

Called just to ask a question and whoever answered in the Bakery had the biggest attitude. Sooo easy to lose customers with an attitude like that. Actually had to laugh at her a little she sounded like she hated her job.

Picked up a cookie tray for my dad . he passed away . wanted to send to the hospital for the doctors and nurses that took care of him till the end . the cookie tray looked like some one just throgh them on there . had to go back home and prepare them properly. This was not a good experience.

Absolutely the best Italian bread in Rochester.

The bread is good, but the pastries often don't taste fresh. Subs are sloppy and the management isn't very friendly. I know some people who used to work there and they said that it's very difficult to work for them. They are old fashioned and to be honest, just plain rude to their employees. The owner is impossible to please. They don't give them a weekly schedule. They will text them the day before asking if they can work. They also get mad if you say that you are unable to work the next day. I have heard that the employees are not very welcoming towards each other. They do the minimum to succeed. Very overpriced. One thing that is good are the cannolis.

We go here for bread and cannolis. Best subs around too! Affordable and delicious. We will travel 20+ miles to enjoy a loaf of bread.

My experience conclusion? Unacceptable.. Serving pre cooked steak (philly-cheese steak) throwing toppings on it then cheese, baking it for 2 minutes and thrown on what tasted like day old bread? Come on maaaan?

Best subs in Rochester, hands down.

Generous portions combined with stellar homemade sub rolls and fresh toppings and service with a smile makes this bakery a must eat location. Conveniently located in the Gates community. Been a customer for years.

Highly recommended! If you love good, filling food... BREAD... PASTRIES... and yes, ibwrote those in caps on purpose, then you'll be mad about this place. The portions are incredible for the money charged. The seating is kind of cramped but that takes nothing away from the experience. Excellent place!

I think there sub rolls are awsome, affordable, last longer than tops, which is around the corner, but i take the ride, cause its worth it.

The cannolli was pretty good. The rainbow cookie wasn't. The ambiance is not good. Parking is tight.

Great Italian bakery! We've moved from Rochester area to Buffalo area, but everytime we're in Rochester we go here and stock up. Today 12 bags dough, 2 packs rolls, a couple pizzas, and a chocolate chip/cherry biscotti for the way home. 😋

The freshest bread and baked goods, everything is authentic and home made. The prices are ridiculously cheap for what you get. A fresh loaf of Italian bread for $2.00 dollars... absolutely the best!!

I purchased a breakfast sandwhich from here and the sandwhich was pretty good until i almost choked on a onion that had skin on it. I was lucky i was able to pull the onion out from my throat my self. After that i was done almost went back to the bakery with the onion but i decided not to and that i will never eat here again. Prepping food properly can be very important.

Considering the great reviews, I was really looking forward to having lunch here while in town. I left pretty disappointed. I ordered pizza with sausage and peppers. I got pizza that was barely warm around edges and cold in the center, like it had just come out of a refrigerator. The peppers were huge cold slices, the onions were basically raw, just thrown on top, and the pizza had a ton of olives and mushrooms which I definitely didn't ask for. The staff was not friendly. Maybe I went on a bad day..? Regardless, I won't be back.

It's just the best. If you think Subway makes subs, try Martuciellos and see what a REAL sandwich is. This is a necessary stop every time I'm in Rochester.

Fantastic food and service. I will certainly be back to try more of their menu.

Good fresh Italian food. Chicken parmesan sub was amazing. Cheese steak sub was disappointing.

For year this has been a go to for lunch. Although there is hardly any consistency only that the food and atmosphere are constantly good.

Purchased two sandwiches which are quite big for $7.99 but, my husband and I both agreed that Wegmans is tastier. The customer service was A one but the chocolate cream puffs were flat out nasty. I lost the bet against my husband wegmans is in fact better. I would not suggest ever going here. Go to wegmans across the street you won't be disappointed.

By far, the best bread and rolls, believe me when I tell you. If you like crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, this is it. I take their rolls and put them on the grill or on a gas burner and toast the outside. The result is the best role you’ve ever had. And their dough for pizza, incredible especially if you make deep dish pizza.

I've never had a bad experience here. The subs are amazing and there customer is exceptional.

I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to Italian Hoagies, but this sandwich was fantastic. Highly recommended if you're looking for a great deli sandwich in the Rochester area.

See those orange and pink cookies? The large round fluffy ones. They are 5 stars. The others are good but those are fantastic. First time picking up cookies from here and I'm a happy camper.

Absolutely fabulous bread and rolls (I haven't tried anything else so I can't comment on anything else)! I am known as the "Official Roll Bringer" to every family function thanks to Martusciellos rolls! LOL

Worse steak sub of my life. Bread and cheese were good...you could not eat the grizzled, though fatty steak...I mean not eatable. If I could I would have given zero stars

Like a previous reviewer said, Martusciello sells breads all over Monroe county. I've been buying for years at a store near my home. Recently, I discovered the their bakery was near to where I work and finally decided to stop in. I was expecting simply a bakery. What I found was a lot more.I ended up picking up lunch there and was very impressed. I have already started to find excuses to go there again.

My favorite bread bakery but unfortunately whoever they have working on Sundays like to close up shop early. Says they're open til 3pm . I got here a few mins before 3 and the doors were already locked and what looks like employees were already pulling out of the parking lot. 2 other customers pulled up right after me and very disappointed.
